School Games Day
All staff and children thoroughly enjoyed our School Games Day which was organised and run by Mrs Cooke and Mr O’Mahoney.
The day began with an Official Opening Ceremony out on the playground where Year 6 children clearly explained the purpose of the day and the activities that the children would be taking part in. This ceremony brought a real sense of togetherness and excitement which set the tone for the day. A group of Year 6 children performed a fantastic Irish Jig to start the day and later taught the dance to the rest of the school! Throughout the day, the whole school had great fun taking part in a wide range of sports activities including, Dodgeball, Football, Unihoc, Cricket, Ultimate Frisbee and Multiskills. The Caythorpe School Games Values, which are teamwork, passion, self-belief, respect, honesty and determination were clearly visible in every activity. Various children were awarded with certificates for demonstrating these values during the Closing Ceremony. At the end of the day the whole school took part in a very successful Race for Life.
