Attendance & Lateness
Good attendance in school is vital to your child’s learning and development.
Following statutory guidelines, absences cannot be authorised during term time and may only be granted in the most exceptional circumstances. 95% attendance is the absolute minimum target for all children. Every day counts!
Children are welcomed onto the playground at 8:45am to ensure they are in school ready to begin their lessons promptly at 9:00am. Unfortunately a number of children are frequently arriving late to school. When a child arrives late they miss valuable learning time and it can disrupt lessons. This is something that we must ensure does not happen.
Lateness adds up over time and can make a huge difference to children’s learning time in school. Every second counts!
Arriving 10 minutes late each day = Nearly 1 ½ weeks per year!
Arriving 20 minutes late each day = Nearly 2 ½ weeks per year!
Arriving 30 minutes late each day = 4 weeks per year!
